2018 Alexander Valley Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
Our Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve program combines a top-shelf vineyard with old-world wine making techniques. Sallyvine vineyard is situated on an alluvial fan that spreads eastward across Alexander Valley from the Northern Coastal Range.
The soils are deep and well-drained and hold just enough water to sustain the vines without promoting excessive vigor. Cool nights and warm days provide ideal conditions to ripen the grapes and allow for maximum hang-time.
This new 2018 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon release shows a more muscular and deeper side of Sallyvine than the previous vintage. The bouquet is focused and tightly-wound, with aromas of cherry cobbler, plum, black olive, dried sage and toasty oak with nuances of black pepper and mint.
The mouthfeel is beautifully structured and seamless with an abundance of ripe tannins, smooth mid-palate and a dense core of cherry and red-currant fruit flavors.
