About
The Maples is a lovely country estate that has it all. Just 15 minutes from Sacramento International Airport and 30 minutes from the bustling capitol city, this wonderful 50 acre parcel has so many options you may want to plan an entire weekend event. As soon as you turn onto the street you will feel the magnificence while driving under a canopy of some of the oldest olive trees in California (circa 1870). Your guests will be welcomed by valet attendants at the main entrance gate and can peek over the low retaining wall to see what a splendid property this is. Hints of early California Spanish architecture is incorporated throughout.
The Estate House was built in the 1930’s, but the recent owners have completed a full remodel to make it perfect for weddings and events on property. It includes a full catering kitchen and vendor prep area, the lovely Bridal area including a living room & kitchen and the bridal suite with built-in hair and makeup stations for up to 4, and the Groom Cave, a cool, handsome area with pool table and bar in the basement…there’s a place for everyone!
The Homestead Lawn will be an obvious choice for many celebrations. It’s large with meandering flowerbeds full of colorful blooms. which the lawn is also flanked by the Manor Pool and Patio, which will also work well for poolside cocktails, and leads into the games area with bocce ball and horseshoes. Behind the Pool House is an unexpected treat that you’ll want to share with your guests, the original outdoor fireplace is lovely, and has been updated to gas so your guests can cozy up, perhaps adding some lounge furniture or using the area for late night dancing. Also adjacent to the Homestead Lawn is the original potting shed, which can be used as a backdrop for a bar if you’d like the rustic barn feel in combination with the beautifully manicured lawn area.
Behind the Estate House is another area that works perfectly for a smaller event of 100 or fewer or perhaps your rehearsal dinner during a full weekend buyout. The Courtyard surrounds an 80-year old Ginkgo tree which makes for a wonderful backdrop for a ceremony. The Back Lawn is shady in the evenings, giving you plenty of space for ceremony, cocktails, dinner and dancing all within the same area.
Beyond the back Courtyard lies the truly rustic part of the property, The Maple Stable (circa 1930’s), which can be used as backdrop for outdoor events. It is connected to the Covered Arena, which make for a great rustic barn style wedding. There is even a fruit orchard in site that would work nicely as an entrance gathering spot or cocktailing space after a wedding ceremony. Please see The Maples website for all of the great history of the property, including it being the original venue for the Yolo County Fair!
